Clean Calorie is run by Rabjeet Singh Chhabra in London, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect

• Account: name, email, handle, a scrambled (hashed) version of your password, and your mobile number if you give it.
• Your log and settings: foods you log, calories and macros, your goals, height, weight, age, diet type, ingredient filters and allergies.
• Meal photos: if you use Snap a Meal, the photo is sent for analysis and then discarded. We do not keep it.
• Progress photos: stay on your phone only. They never reach our servers.
• Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
• Contact and beta forms: the name, email and message you send.

Why we use it

• To run the app and keep your log in sync across devices (to perform our contract with you).
• Your food, weight and allergy data may count as health data. We only process it to provide the app, with your consent when you create an account. You can withdraw consent by deleting your account.
• Your mobile number is used only to help with your account, for example if you get locked out or there is a problem with a payment. We will not use it for marketing unless you separately agree.
• To take payments and manage your subscription.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (our legitimate interest).

We do not sell your data and we do not show ads.

Who we share it with

• Netlify hosts the app and stores account data.
• Anthropic analyses meal photos you choose to send.
• Stripe processes payments.
• Open Food Facts receives barcodes and search terms your phone looks up. No account details are sent.

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK data protection law, such as standard contractual clauses or the UK-US data bridge.

Public logs

If you switch on public sharing, the summary on your public page is visible to anyone with the link. It never includes your email, phone, weight or photos. Switch it off at any time.

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your account and cloud log straight away and cancels any subscription. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app. For anything else, contact us using the form on the website. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores your log and sign-in on your device so it works offline.
